5 Tips To Fall In Love With Your Home Again

Our homes are more than just physical spaces they are our sanctuary, a place where we find comfort after a trying day, we create treasured memories and feel confident to let our personalities shine.

Treasuring our homes and falling back in love with our spaces can make us feel a deeper appreciation for what we have, whether it’s enhancing it’s natural beauty or adding to it, which in return gives us a sense of well-being. Imagine creating a laundry room that makes every day chores a joy, a breakfast nook to enjoy that first morning coffee, your very own spa-like bathroom to unwind the day and feel refreshed after a comfortable night’s sleep in your very own five star bedroom

I’ve put together five tips to help you fall in love with this space you call home.

Create Comfortable & Functional Spaces

Finding that balance of comfort and function. Arranging your living spaces to facilitate ease of movement whilst catering for your needs, a well placed coffee table, a side table and table lamp that allows you to read or perform a task. Investing in furniture pieces that serve the use of the room, sometimes multipurpose items like an ottoman that can double up as extra seating if required, a foot stool and a coffee table. The right proportions of a sofa that isn’t too big or too small for the space. All of these elements contribute to a sense of calm and contentment.

Introduce a New Colour Scheme

Colour is so transformative and sometimes you need to be brave. Get inspired then choose colours that really speak to you and make your heart skip a beat. It could be wall colours or fabrics on soft furnishings. Introduce a brand new colour scheme for the entire house!

Bring Nature Indoors

Incorporating elements of nature into your home can have a profound impact on your well-being. Add indoor plants to various rooms, make good use of the natural light in your home as much as possible by installing the correct window treatments, and consider using natural materials like wood and stone in your decor. Connecting with nature within your home can create a peaceful and refreshing atmosphere, promoting a sense of tranquility.

Add Your Personality

Imagine coming home to your favourite colour to greet you on your front door or a rose bush plant or tree that you love.

Continue on through your home with a scent that you are known for or that really lifts your spirits, the one that says you’re home. Our sense of smell is vital to our well-being as it influences our mood and determines how long we stay in a room.

Add accessories that mean something to you, your sense of style or items which bring back memories that make you feel good. Not sure how to find your style? I’ve created a pdf to help you find your very own signature style, download it here>>

Clean, Shine & Remove

Bring some sparkle and shine back into your home. Wash windows, polish the stainless steel and clean woodwork to give a little TLC to your home, even if you start with one room at a time. Your home always feels good after a good clean. Declutter those areas you’ve been meaning to do for a long time and enjoy the lightness that comes from having items that you no longer need out of your house and off your mind!

Falling in love with your home again is a gradual process which will improve as you go along and involves intentional effort here and there to transform your home into a place you genuinely love and cherish in a way that brings you joy and satisfaction every day.
